My husband and I argue sometimes.
I shouldn’t bother, but what can I do when there are times (a few now) when he is right?
Anyway, he said that since we produce good quality sails that drive a sailboat extremely well to windward, or to wherever, the slogan should not be ‘Traditional Cruising Sails’. That, he said, would imply that our sails are not for skippers who want to get maximum performance from their boat.
He suggested “Quality Cruising / Racing Sails”.
Since we work with many cutting edge fabrics in the loft, but never mylar, I would not go for that slogan...
At this sailloft, since about 1910, the Stevens family has been turning out sails for everything from fishing schooners to fast racing yachts and almost everything in between. There’s only one rule: they must be of the best materials and sewn with pride by caring hands. Our sails should be able to cross oceans and do it well.
“Fast”, Yes. “Mylar”, No! So... the compromise...
